This newbie is a canadian trader Forex Anomaly. There are also 2 russian traders which are actualy one person (Kama-Spot and Saved FX) and also 2 chinese traders.
Our well know trader F8 has suddenly dissapeared from second place as he is currently busy fighting against strong GBP/USD trend with 3,500 pips drawdown.

It is february 2013 and this is a review of Denganyouqianle, Zulutrade signal provider.

7 Secrets of Successful Traders

How Big Traders Got Big : What the Journeys of Successful Traders Have in Common

One of the most common things new traders want to learn is what steps they need to follow and how much time it will take them to become successful traders. Naturally, the answers to these questions are extremely varied and it will depend on how they want to become successful and what they perceive as successful trading. However I wanted to know if there was a common denominator to success and if the journey to get there was market by some well defined “steps” that I could share with my faithful readers. Upon studying the biographies of several accomplished traders – like George Soros and Warren Buffet – and personally asking several traders I know -who manage funds with more than one million dollars in capital- I think I have come up with a pretty straight forward list of what their journeys have in common. You will see that most traders who achieved success got there through some pretty well-defined steps that are certainly far less incredible and rare than what most people think. After reading this post you will see that only a few qualities actually separate those who fail from those who enjoy lasting success in various forms of trading.

But what is success ? What would you describe as success in currency trading or even trading in general ? Some people may say “trading profitably for one year”, others may define it as “living from trading” while others may define it as “gaining at least X% each year”. For simplicity I decided to consider a definition of success which I think encompasses all of the above since – to reach it – one requires to be profitable and to make the prospect of future profitability believable to other people. This mark of success is the achievement of a one million dollar trading capital. For the purpose of this article I consider successful traders those who get to manage more than one million dollars within their trading career.

The next step of my journey was to go through each story I could find of a trader who I know achieved funds with more than one million dollars and see if all the stories shared something in common. What do all these people share along their journey for success ? Here are some of the truths I could find.

1. Most seem to have started with accounts from 1000 to 5000 USD. Certainly this may be shocking to some people out there who say that it is impossible to grow accounts to huge proportions and that it is a “dream” to believe that a person can make a living when starting from a small investment. The truth is that many stories start with someone who saved a few thousand dollars to start trading or someone who traded a small fund from a sibling.

2. Starting age and success are inversely proportional. Another interesting fact here is that the success of most of these traders seems to be correlated with the age in which they started to get into the trading business. The most successful – the ones managing more than 100 million within their careers – seem to have started very young, even before 20, while the large majority seem to have started between 25 and 35 and none – from the research I did – started after they were 40.

3. It took most of them between 5 and 15 years to get to the first million in trading capital. After starting to trade their first account it took the large majority between 5 and 15 years to get to manage their first million dollars. This shows that patience and dedication are tremendously important since “giving up” was not an option for any of these successful traders. Sticking to the plan, learning and battling to become a better trader is a key to their success.

4. Their average compounded yearly profit to maximum draw down ratio never exceeded 4 to 1. The track record of this extremely successful traders show that indeed the market offers no miraculous opportunities and that the expected profit the market is giving traders is effectively capped by the market exposure of any discretionary or mechanical strategy they use. Most of these traders succeeded with discretionary strategies but a few did using mechanical systems and in doing so they showed that in the end the market limits profitability.

5. Their average compounded yearly profits were always below 50%. None of these successful traders ever achieved an average ten year compounded yearly profit higher than 50%. This shows you another very important aspect which is that large profits can be gained but in doing so adequate precautions have to be taken to limit the amount of draw down. The effort done to reduce the maximum draw down of a strategy inevitably reduces the profitability as well making most of these successful traders fall more between the 15-25% average compounded yearly profit after ten years. This is something that new forex traders could definitely learn about since it shows by example that reward and risk are inevitably coupled and that considering a 20-30% monthly profit “realistic” is a terribly big mistake as in the long term these figures have clearly not been achieved.

6. They didn’t use large risk to reward ratios or martingales. From the traders I could study and the trading strategies they used it is absolutely evident that not a single one of them became successful through the use of either martingale (or any progressive lot sizing strategy) or strategies with risk to reward ratios higher than 2:1. The story that repeats itself over and over again is that success in trading comes from putting capital preservation first, cutting losses short, letting profits run and getting into high probability trades which are eliminated quickly if they turn sour.

7. From that first million dollars, most capital wasn’t theirs. Perhaps a little surprise comes from the fact that the large majority of the initial million dollars achieved by successful traders was actually not theirs but managed capital. This means that traders were getting money from people who knew their track record and wished to invest with them. It becomes clear again here that large amounts of money are made in trading by managing other people’s money instead of compounding one’s own gains. This makes perfect sense as there are many people in the world who have money and look for good returns and profitable traders with 5-10 year track records ( a very odd thing to find in fact) tend to attract this capital extremely easily, even if their average compounded yearly profit is actually just above 10%.

The story tends to be rather simple. Most successful traders start with little money, then they develop their trading skills and as their accounts grow they start to manage other people’s money and become more and more successful. The story of successful traders is not about making 20-50% a month, it is not about making 1000% a year without a 5% draw down, it is a story of risk control, of discipline and of perseverance. The people selling forex products have managed to distort this view into something it is not by telling people they can grow money without working, without understanding and with just a very small investment. Yes, becoming a millionaire from a few hundred or thousand dollars is possible but the journey is very different. The lesson we can learn here from successful traders is that money comes from showing that you can make money in the long term and then using other people’s money to exercise those skills.

Zulutrades Comments - Funny/Sad Reading

Today I have realized one very interesting thing. People (I mean Zulutrade followers) are very naive.
I do not mean to offend anybody, but if you´d like to know what I mean simply go, find a signal provider who has thousands of followers but he is using a strategy without stop loss, with multiple positions, close to 100% winning ratio or martingale system.

These kind of providers often manage to get to Top 10 very quickly because they are not using stop losses and when trend goes against them, they just sit and wait till it return in their favor or simply add more positions.

But back to comments and followers. Today I´ve seen a beautiful example. Current Top1 signal provider opened EUR/USD position. Prices moved against him so he opened another position and later 2 more.
he was -270 pips and comments started to come in. As you can guess, all were negative. The trader got lucky and trend reversed so he took small pips of profit of each position. Suddenly positive comments started to come in :)

The funniest thing about that comments was like: "Best trader..." , "Amazing how he handled the situation..." etc. And all this trader did was, he was just sitting, adding more positions without stop loss and putting more and more risk on his followers and they didn´t even realized that.


Sad thing is that exactly this happened  with FCC....he was doing the same thing, he was hero, till the huge counter trend came and hew blew hundreds or thousands accounts out. And he still earns commissions.

Zulutrade Expert Forex Signal Providers

There are many traders on Zulutrade but only very few of them could be called Expert signal providers.
Even if you check Top5 or Top10 in Zulutrade ranking they might not be there because many traders with reckless trading style are able to temporarily get to top if they are lucky. But once some big trend against them occurs they can blow many follower´s accounts.

So there are couple of things you should check on your quest to finding true Zulutrade expert forex signal providers.

Here is the list:

- weeks - the longer track the better
- winning trades % - be careful with close to 100% winning ratio, can lead to big drawdowns
- average pips/trade - avoid scalpers with 1-3 pips average
- average trade time - pick those which suits your needs
- maximum drawdown - use this value to set your lot size to trade safely. Remember that there always can be higher drawdown if trader do not use clear stop loss value
- max. open trades - use this to figure your lot size
- worst vs. best trade - be aware if worst trades are higher than best ones
- necessary minimum equity - this shows how much money you need to safely trade 1 micro lot.

Zulutrade Delay - Slippage

What is Zulutrade delay?

Well, when you start following some Zulutrade signal provider you can experience a slight delay in trades execution on your broker´s account. It is also called a slippage.

This happens because trading signal travels from your signal provider´s application via Zulutrade platform to your broker´s account.
It could be miliseconds or half second time, but market doesn´t sleep and can move pip or two within that timeframe.

So when choosing a broker for your Zulutrade account it might be a good idea to check delay (slippage) values of individual brokers. Even 1 pip/trade can make a big difference after couple of hundreds trades.

Forex Cruise Control (FCC) Is Still Earning Commissions!!!

Today, it´s February 12, 2013 and I have just noticed that Forex Cruise Control (Zulutrade Signal Provider) who blew so many followers accounts last year is still active and even earning commissions from Zulutrade.



Here is this signal provider´s story in short:


Forex Cruise Control (FCC) became made a very nice profit, went to TOP1 in Zulu ranking and got thousands of followers. During his top glory, amount following him was about $30 million.
So he had many thousands followers and was earning huge commissions from Zulutrade.
But the problem with his strategy was that he was not using stop loss and even was adding to losing positions waiting a trend to reverse in his favor. This way he made a lot of pips of profits, even with some big drawdowns. But one day a huge opposite trend came. FCC was as usualy adding more and more positions, but trend was refusing to turn into his favor. That way he created a huge drawdown (3,22k pips) which blew hundreds if not thousands of accounts. Those who were not wiped out left him with big losses.

And guess what, this signal provider still has 2859 followers (up to date). Those must be a really very loyal followers, or those who still hope to get their lost money back, because I can´t imagine any new followers joining him. The thing is that he did not made any significant profit for last 6 months (maybe around 200 pips). But he is very clever. He managed to close 4 of 6 months in profit (20 or 40 pips) and secure his commissions.

So how much this trader can earn per month? Well this will be a pure speculation, but let´s do some math to see.

As I said, he had 2859 followers. Some of them might be demo accounts, but if you check Live Followers tab on his stats page you can count them. I counted almost 2400 live followers. Let´s say that some of them currently don´t receive his signals. So let´s play with 2000 followers.
Now, let´s pretend that each of them trades only 1 microlot. That is 5 cents per trade per follower.
2000x $0.05 = $100 per trade.
FCC average 40 trades / month. That makes 40x $100= $4000 monthly.



Can you imagine that people lost hundreds thousands of dollars, those who still follow him earned alsmost nothing for last 6 months and he still earns $4k or maybe more monthly?

Earning 3,702 pips in 16 weeks — The Wolf is now sitting on 25th at Zulu Rank. It was performing so well on January 2013, by earning a total of 1,066 pips, but February seemed only be better with a total of 1,295 pips has been earned in just the first week. This provider trades on multiple pairs and having a maximum of 7 opened orders in the same time. It is having a quiet high, 23 pips average profit per trade.

This review is written in february 2013. We are reviewing Kama-Spot, Russian Zulutrade signal provider.
Currently is #2 in Zulutrade ranking. He´s been trading for 18 weeks so far, but he already has over 5000 followers and total amount following him is $7.2 million, which is impressive.

Kama-Spot Pros:

- 5 consecutive months in profit
- good 80% positive rating by followers
- average 14 pips per trade

Kama-Spot Cons:

- short trading history
- worst trades are sometimes higher than best ones

Review summary:

Kama-Spot is trading almost only GBP/USD and EUR/USD pairs, sometimes USD/CHF.
His equity chart is growing very nicely. So far he had max. 5 open trades at the same times.
His drawdown is quite low (13%, 500 pips) , which is acceptable, but note that it could be much higher as his stop loss level is not clear. Worst trade so far was -234 pips, but if he let his losing trades open till they reverse and become positive, as 93% winning ratio shows, his max. drawdown could be much higher in future.

Note that this trader is also known as Saved FX. He is sending similar trades to both signal provider´s accounts, so beware that if you follow them both, your risk will be double too.
